Our Approach

Walks built around your dog’s natural pace, choices, and needs

Our goal is simple. Walks that give your dog space to sniff, move, observe, and process the world in a way that makes sense to them, with thoughtful support for their body, brain, and nervous system.

A good dog walk is about more than getting in steps

It is an opportunity for your dog to gather information, make choices, move their body, and settle into the world around them.

That can look like stopping to sniff, changing pace, watching something from a distance, exploring something new, taking a different route, or pausing when your dog needs a moment.

We pay attention to those moments, because they tell us what your dog needs.

Walking with the dog, not against them

Our approach is inspired by the principles behind Behaviour Adjustment Training, often called BAT. In simple terms, BAT is about helping dogs feel safer in the world by giving them more space, more choice, and better support around the things they find difficult.

For dog walking, that means we are not dragging dogs past triggers, forcing greetings, or asking them to “get over it.” We are watching their body language, noticing what they can handle, and adjusting the walk before they become overwhelmed.

What we believe

  • Freedom to choose

Dogs need space to make choices. These small choices help dogs process their environment, build confidence, and move through the world with more ease. We support that freedom, so each dog has room to be themselves.

  • Safety first, always

A good walk starts with safety. Physical and emotional. We pay attention to body language and environment, so dogs have the space they need to stay regulated. When a dog feels safe, they’re able to engage with the world in a more positive way.

  • Fulfillment drives behaviour

Behaviour is not random. Dogs need meaningful outlets for their senses, instincts, and emotions. Sniffing, observation, and choice are not extras. They are part of how dogs express themselves, gather information, and return to regulation.
